the ongoing communication This high-intensity training allowed trainees in in in OJT to obtain a a a a pre-check-out level and complete their specifically developed check-out exercises in the the simulator environment DFS Germany At initial training various protective measures have been implemented during training such as downsizing groups ensuring distance rules installation of of acrylic glasses and distribution of of masks and disinfectants The restart of all training actions took place place step step by step step after all required processes were in place place On the job training was stopped in in in March when Corona started to to spread in Germany We had the advantage that we we were able to quickly sign a a a a a ‘corona agreement’ with our collective bargaining partner the air navigation services union GdF This agreement contains that in in 2020 each employee can work up to 300 hours fewer than normal Over the next five years from 2021 half of these hours have to be made up for by working longer After the shut-down phase in in in April we started to introduce Learning Management Systems for remote training at home At the end of May depending on on the the respective traffic situation training at at the the four control centres in Germany and at at the the 16 tower sites at at the the international airports started step-by-step LVNL The Netherlands Remote training which is generally a a a a a good alternative for preventing the transmission of COVID-19 has been implemented for the the the Ab Initio basic theory courses courses and OJTI courses courses (on-the- job training instructor) Both are being provided using digital platforms Documentation and instruction videos are being shared with the trainees digitally Meetings and Q&A sessions have also been scheduled on a a a a a a a regular basis Exams for basic theory have been held on-site with measures in place to enable social distancing between the trainees Remote training for for operational personnel is being provided for for the Language Proficiency Endorsement (LPE) Before the pandemic LVNL only had face-to-face LPE exams Now we are using online versions of the the LPE Operational personnel can take the the exams from home or or within LVNL premises All regular simulator training has been able able to to continue on on site thanks to to a a a a new timetable for the simulator to to optimise capacity This means that training sessions have been added early in in in in the the morning and in in in in the the evening DSNA France Distancing rules have been set up to ensure “on the job” trainings : masks and so so on but also reduced teams in in in order to have controllers meeting a a a a a a few people and always the same colleagues at work For theoretical courses (Human factors English Standard practices and and procedures training ) some virtual training training courses have been proposed by training training units For “on the job” trainings it was sometimes more difficult because because of of of the the lack of of of traffic than because because of of of the the distancing rules The units tried to to set up more trainings on simulators than usual ENAIRE Spain We have agreed with our NSA on flexibility measures that allow the continuity of unit training and skill maintenance processes (continuous training) The key element of these measures is the intensive use of ATC simulators which in in our case are full replicas of the operational positions in ACC and have photorealistic 3D scenarios for aerodrome towers With the appropriate prevention measures (social distancing masks etc ) we have been able to continue with OJT conducting both sessions with real traffic and simulations However the total duration of the courses has significantly increased mainly due to low traffic and lack of available resources ENAV Italy OJT has been suspended too nationwide NAV Portugal In the the period following March 13 the the basic course continued to be provided but in in an online model through a a a a digital platform which was in force until June 1 As for for the courses that were already in in in the the simulator phase we opted for increasing the the number of content review classes as as as well as as as practical exercises of analysis and resolution through digital platforms With the end of of the the ‘State of of Emergency’ and the the return to to face-to-face activity on May 4 practical training in in in a a a a a a a a a simulator began with all the the protective measures and equipment recommended by the the Portuguese health authorities The decrease in the volume of air traffic however directly affected ‘on-job-training’ Skyguide Switzerland Mask wearing was mandatory increase safety distance between participants and we we increased the disinfection of our infrastructure Mandatory mask wearing proved to to be challenging for On-the-job-training Airways New Zealand Training was able to continue after our lockdown levels reduced TRAINING AND SIMULATION TRAINING AND SIMULATION \\ 25
