The EUROCONTROL Aviation Learning Centre is a certified ATC Training Organisation (certified by the Belgian Supervisory Authority) with an ISO 9001:2015 certificate. It’s also an ICAO TrainairPlus Corporate Partner. Strengthening support to the network also includes upskilling staff from the Competent Authorities, an area ALC has been active in for almost twenty years through its NSA (National Supervisor Authority) Training Initiative. Competent Authorities need skilled staff in order to do proper oversight of activities. Since the creation of this initiative, hundreds of people have been trained on EU legislation and the obligations these create for ANSPs and Airports. This training programme will continue to evolve in order to help these organisations to meet European regulation in an effective way. Digitalisation is a key element of the ALC’s strategy for the future and is being implemented across all different areas of activity. This approach enables a fresh approach to how the Centre operates and how it stays in touch with its customers. Digitalisation is not only about making things digital, it’s about transforming the business and making it ever-more attractive to its customers. As an example, since last year, printed training brochures have been replaced by Aviation Learning Unpacked. These on-line events take place a few times a year and are an opportunity for customers both current and future to discover the training portfolio and to give their first reaction to what is on offer. That is very much how ALC sees its future – engagement and close co-operation with its customers who are considered as genuine partners. 9 |
